STEM week 2018

10th June 2018
Following on from the brilliant and inspiring 'Stemtastic' event organised for all of the Year 6 pupils in the WEST trust, St John's held our own STEM week early in June.

Children from nursery right through to Year 6 were involved in designing, making and evaluating some amazing and inventive creations, from rockets to bird houses; bridges to shelters for refugees...

We got a chance to hear from people who work in science, technology, engineering and maths careers and take part in some pretty cool workshops using Minecraft and microbits.

At the start of the week not so many children could see themselves working in a STEM career in the future, but by the end that number had rocketed (almost as high as the Y6 rockets did!)

A brilliant week was had by all. Thanks to Mrs King for organising it!
